Semper ad Lucem welcomes thoughtful original writing rooted in the Catholic intellectual, literary, and spiritual tradition.
We invite submissions including:
While we welcome a variety of voices and styles, we especially value writing that engages deeply with the Catholic tradition through Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Church Fathers, Vatican documents, theology, philosophy, history, literature, and the lived experience of faith.
Submissions should be original and authentically written in the author's own voice.
We seek writing marked by authenticity, depth, clarity, and a distinct personal voice. Submissions should represent the genuine thought, perspective, and craftsmanship of the author.
If a submission has appeared elsewhere previously, please note where it was published.
Authors retain full rights to their original work. By submitting, authors grant Semper ad Lucem permission to publish and archive accepted works digitally or in print in association with Semper ad Lucem and its related publishing imprints, including Always Toward the Light.
We are especially interested in writing that illuminates truth, beauty, goodness, memory, suffering, wonder, redemption, and the dignity of the human person.

Please submit written work in Microsoft Word or Google Docs format with editing permissions enabled or unrestricted access provided.
When formatting prose submissions, allow paragraphs to wrap naturally from line to line rather than inserting manual line breaks at the end of each sentence or line. This helps preserve formatting and allows our editors to transfer and prepare manuscripts accurately across publishing platforms.
